Nostalgia Day

Forever 21 Maxi Dress/ Target Blouse/ Steven by Steve Madden Wedges/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Michael Kors Watch/ Cost Plus World Market Necklace/ Kate Spade Sunglasses

Today my hometown hosted its 22nd Annual Nostalgia Day Car Show. I've never attended before and was pleasantly surprised at the huge turnout. The weather was less than ideal with a few sprinkles here and there, but that didn't stop us from chowing down on Kettle Corn and checking out all of the great cars!

1 of 2 adorable infant sized cars!

I loved this shade of pink, definitely my kind of car!

Papa Car and Baby Car

I liked that this car made a statement by accessorizing with a fox tail

Underground Film Festival

Rheea & Co. Top/ Rock & Republic Jeans/ Chinese Laundry Heels/ Watch, Nordstrom

This past Thursday {courtesy of Yelp} I attended opening night of the Oakland Underground Film Festival at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland. We saw a screening of 'Yelling to the Sky', which should hit theaters sometime next year. The movie features Zoe Kravitz {Lenny Kravitz's daughter} and Gabourey Sidibe {from the movie Precious}and told a coming of age story based on the Film Maker's life. Honestly for me the movie was really intense and emotional, I did a fair amount of crying, but it was really moving. The best part was that afterwards they held a Q&A with the film maker. We found out that the movie was shot in only 18 days and there was a 2-take max per scene; it seems pretty amazing to deliver such a great movie under those major time/budget constraints! Also, I must say I was very impressed with the Grand Lake Theater. The 85 year old theater is gorgeous with lots of character, if you are ever in the area, I definitely recommend seeing a movie here!

Sassy City Chick

Blouse, Kohl's/ Vest, vintage/ Forever 21 Skirt/ Qupid Booties/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Michael Kors Watches
Friday night the Sassy City Chicks hosted an event at Fort Mason in the city. They had clothing, jewelry, and accessories vendors as well as some interesting cocktail sampling, complimentary hair and make-up services, and a professional photography station. True to my nature I couldn't leave empty handed {bought some bracelets!} and I was excited to discover an amazing new jewelry line {Aknot}. We also took home tote bags filled with fun goodies like panties, soyjoy bars, and softlips. Overall I was a little underwhelmed by the event; we had a great time and I shouldn't complain since everything was free, but since I've attended Shecky's Girls Night Out {a very similar event thrown at Fort Mason} a few times, I can't help but compare the two. Shecky's always has at least twice the amount of vendors, better drinks, and better tote bags. Hopefully Sassy City Chicks will amp up their next event. Regardless--shopping, drinks, spa services, and girlfriends are always a great combination!

My new favorite Jewelry line! I'm even thinking about hosting a Jewelry party!

Acid Washed

H&M Top/ Mossimo Jacket, c/o Azalea Boutique/ Decades Denim Ali Crop Pants/ Bamboo Heels/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Tommy Hilfiger Sunglasses
A few weeks back I got a message on Facebook from a San Francisco Boutique called Azalea that I won a custom acid washed jacket. I highly recommend checking out the boutique if you're in the city or if not definitely stop by their Facebook page, they post some great DIY fashion videos and host good giveaways too. I was super excited about my win since I loved how this acid washed jacket turned out in the video! I've also had my eye out for a good denim jacket for fall and this one has turned out to be a great versatile addition to my wardrobe, thanks Azalea!

I love my new Rebecca Minkoff Bag!

Fashion's Night Out: San Francisco Style

Top, vintage/ BCBGMaxazria Skirt/ Jacket, Kohl's/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Nine West Heels/ Michael Kors Watch
Mercedes Benz fashion week is now in full swing and even though I'm not in New York I was thrilled to at least be able to attend Thursday's Fashion's Night Out in our lovely city by the bay. First stop, my friends and I headed to Neiman Marcus where we took 'red carpet' photos and went floor to floor to check out all of the happenings. Next we headed to Betsey Johnson where they had champagne, gave complimentary bang trims, and raffled off a funky Betsey Johnson tote. After a glass of bubbly we made our way to Macy's; we enjoyed wine and small bites, I met SF Blogger Blair of Atlantic-Pacific, and we saw Sonja Morgan one of the Real Housewives of New York. And the last {and probably most fun} event we were able to make it to was at All Saints where they took a video of us and turned it into a photo flipbook {which would make the coolest Christmas Cards or Save the Dates!}

Where were you on Fashion's Night Out?

Heard it Through the Grapevine

Dress, Vintage/ Forever 21 Belt/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Marc Jacobs Sunglasses/ Steven by Steve Madden Wedges/ Michael Kors Watch/ Seiko Watch/ Bracelet, Nordstrom/ Golden Snitch Necklace, Etsy

My hometown hosts an array of awesome wine festivals throughout the year, but Labor Day weekend is the best of them all. Imagine being shuttled around from winery to winery where they not only have tastings but also tons of fabulous vendors and delicious food. Well that is how I spent my Sunday. Next year, if you're in Northern California next Labor Day weekend, mark the Livermore Harvest Festival on your calendar {right now} and you can thank me later ;-)
