Feeling Thrifty

Merona Top/ Leather Skirt, vintage/ Bamboo Heels/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Bershka Necklace/ Forever 21 Bracelets/ Michael Kors Watch
Since I had the day off on Friday, my boyfriend and I got to sleep in and do some shopping. We scored some major deals and got plenty of relaxation in. It's so rare to have a day with no plans or 'to-do's so it was a great treat for us! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend too!

A City Wedding

Laundry by Shelli Segal Dress/ Badgley Mischka Shoes/ Alexis Hudson Clutch/ Apt. 9 Pashmina
I always love weddings! From seeing the bride walk down the aisle, to the speeches and getting down on the dance floor....I love every minute! This past Saturday I attended a gorgeous wedding in the city. I knew it was going to be an amazing evening as we drove over the Bay Bridge and the sun was beaming. We had the time of our lives and it got me thinking about taking on a side job. I mean if Vince and Owen did it, I think my boyfriend and I could definitely pull off the whole Wedding Crasher gig!

We had a great view from the balcony at our hotel, Hello clear skies and sunshine

Gotta love adding a sequined clutch to make a muted outfit pop!
I loved the name cards and that each table was named after somewhere in the city!

Harvest Scarf-Vest

L.E.I Dress/ Scarf, souvenir from The Royal Mile, Scotland/ Forever 21 Coat/ Lulus Belt/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Christian Louboutin Mary Janes/ Michael Kors Watch/ Kate Spade Sunglasses
Even though the weather was in the 80s again this weekend I wanted to find a way to start incorporating fall pieces into my outfits. So I put on my favorite lightweight dress, added a scarf {turned vest} and a thin coat to polish off the look. The only thing I was missing was an iced pumpkin spiced latte {I'm obsessed!}!

Pinktober

Xhilaration Dress & Belt/ Forever 21 Blazer/ Liz Claiborne Bag/ Vince Camuto Heels/ Paloma Picasso Loving Heart Earrings & Lariat Necklace, Tiffany & Co./ Forever 21 Bracelets/ Sophie Watch, Nordstrom
Thursday night, Bellezza Cristali's Hair Salon hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness event at their brand new second location. The salon was all decked out in pink decor, they held a silent auction benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and stylists were even doing complimentary pink hair extensions! I am a huge advocate of supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Research so I really loved this event!

Are you participating in any Breast Cancer Awareness events or activities during this Pinktober??

Pink Newspaper Manicure! How-to here
Custom aprons, so cute!
How adorable is my hairstylist {and the salon owner} in her pink wig!?
My favorite silent auction item! Fingers crossed ;-)

That's So Clutch

Aeropostale Top/ Banana Republic Vest & Shorts/ Liz Claiborne Flats/ Alexis Hudson Clutch/ Tommy Hilfiger Sunglasses/ Forever 21 Bracelets & Ring/ Locket, gifted
I have been wanting a large envelope clutch for quite some time so when I saw this sparkling beauty on major sale at lastcall.com I absolutely had to have it! My only regret is not buying the same style in gold! {well, by the time I talked my roommate into buying it so we could share, it was already sold out}
Don't you hate that feeling when you hesitated to buy something and then go back for it and it's too late?!

Back to the 90s

On Thursday night, Sway in Berkeley hosted an awesome event with breakdancing, a fashion show, and of course shopping! The models rocked 90s inspired hair-dos down the runway to some of my favorite 90s hits {FYI I will be bringing topsy tails back into my life}. I couldn't help but dance and sing along to the Spice Girls and the early years of Christina Aguilera :-) After the show, the Sway staff cleared the runway and put out more racks of clothes with the blink of an eye and the crowd rushed to scour the racks for their favorite items from the show. I, of course, never leave empty-handed and snatched up my favorite 'totally bitchin' top from the show {sure to be debuting in my wardrobe ASAP!}.

Hope you have a super rad Friday friends!
Sway has all sorts of fun furniture around the boutique to display their merchandise

Wonders of the Younger

Cape, thrifted/ Mossimo Pants & Heels/ Coach Backpack/ Bauble Bar Bracelet/ Celtic Bracelet, souvenir/ Michael Kors Watch
Tuesday night we set out to San Francisco to see the Plain White T's 'Wonders of the Younger' concert at the Fillmore {courtesy of Alice 97.3, merci!}. I've never been to the Fillmore before and I loved the intimate atmosphere. It was nothing like any of the big overdone productions that I'm used to seeing. Allison Park, the Downtown Fiction, and the Summer Set opened the show. Unfortunately it was a school night {who decided it was cool to have concerts on weeknights? Some of us have to wake up for work by 5:30, just sayin} so when the Summer Set started their set at 9:30 we decided we were hungry and too tired to stick around another 45 minutes to catch the Plain White T's. It would have been cool to see them perform but wasn't a huge loss for me since I actually only know 3 of their songs and frankly I was more eager just to check out the venue.

If you haven't heard of Allison Park or the Downtown Fiction, they are pretty awesome so check them out!

Hello Fall

Mossimo Acid-Washed Denim Jacket, (how-to here)/ Lulu's Maxi Skirt/ Target Cami & Umbrella/ Qupid Wedges/ Germaine Scarf, vintage/ Melie Bianco Bag/ Gucci Glasses
When I put my outfit together last night I had no idea we'd be seeing rain today. In fact since I get in so early in the morning and was too busy to venture out for lunch, I didn't even realize until the afternoon that Fall weather had officially descended upon us! Luckily I always dress for office weather {hello A/C}, so my maxi skirt and denim jacket had me fully prepared for the >30 second walk to and from my car.

I think I am finally ready for it to be Fall. Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte please :-).

Missoni Inspired Mustache and Beard

Missoni for Target Coat/ Petticoat Alley Blouse/ New York & Co. Skirt/ Dru New York Heels/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Michael Kors Watches/ Belina Bracelet
Every other Friday I am reminded of how much I love my work schedule. I work a 9/80 schedule which means I work 9 hour days Monday-Thursday and get every other Friday off. It's magical if you ask me.

So yesterday was my wonderfully magical Friday off and I definitely made the most of it. My boyfriend and I drove out to San Jose and had lunch in Santana Row to visit one of my brothers {I have 3}. Killing two birds with one gemstone we walked across the street to Valley Fair Mall so I could get tickets and make appointments for Nordstrom's Cosmetics Trends Show coming up in November {look for one at the Nordstrom near you and thank me later!}

Next we headed out to Oakland where {courtesy of the amazing Yelp} I had tickets to the Oakland Museum's OZone event. The museum itself is pretty great; they showcase different forms of art, history, and science. What I love about it is that everything is very California-Centric {and as a Native Californian of course I am gee-golly darn proud of our state} The event happenings definitely made the night for me. First order of business we made faux-facial hair. My boyfriend went with a simple Sapling mustache. I on the other hand went for an Extremist {and most fabulous} Missoni-inspired full beard. We even got to take a picture with John Muir himself ;-).

Can I get a raise of hands: Who wants to see a 'Missoni for Mustache and Beard' line?
I was actually excited that the weather finally called for a jacket so I could wear this beauty!
Wearing both the boyfriend's and my facial hair
Check out the Most Beautiful Thing in the Museum

Oh HEY John Muir! What's Up?
