I wish there were more occasions to wear big floppy hats. They certainly aren't business casual but they make me feel like a real "Lady". So I didn't actually get to wear this hat to work today, but I definitely wish I could have!

I love the fact that I can throw a blazer over nearly any outfit and suddenly it becomes Business Casual {except for anything baring too much leg or cleavage, that's more like Business Hoochie} This outfit was probably a bit heavy for the 95 degree weather but hey, I was in air conditioning all day long. Plus the wonder of layering means that when I got outside {except for while taking these pictures} all I had to do was take off my jacket and voila, ready for the heat!

Monday mornings are always such a bummer. This weekend was relaxing and wonderful and frankly the thought of being stuck behind cubicle walls all day is never inviting. So when I peeled myself out of bed this morning I knew I had to put together a bright outfit to lift up my mood--this pink vest couldn't have been more perfect! And truthfully, deep down I hoped that if I got really claustrophobic in my lil ol' cube maybe I could click together the heels of my ruby red slippers and chant 'There's no place like home, there's no place like home!' until I was transported back into bed...{yeah, that didn't work. but hey, it did turn out to be a great day!}

Saturday morning a friend and I went to Fort Mason for our first sample sale. We made some mimosas-to-go and mentally prepared to throw elbows over BCBG and Ella Moss {a la Confesssions of a Shopaholic}. But it turned out to be a fairly quiet shopping experience. There were only about 10 women shopping around and there wasn't all that much inventory. In true shopaholic nature we were {of course} able to find a few great pieces and left fully content!

Any girl who has a sister or lived with roommates knows how much fun it is to have an extension to her own closet. Sadly my sister lives in Los Angeles now and it has been nearly three years since I lived with roommates.  On the upside I recently realized that my boyfriend and I can even share some things {wahoo!} Obviously he has no interest in borrowing any dresses of mine. And I'm not terribly keen on any of his zillion pairs of Nike tennis shoes. But we can share two of my favorite accessories: watches and sunglasses! So today when we went shopping we came out with one of each: a pair of awesome Tommy Hilfiger sunglasses and a kick ass Michael Kors watch. Gotta love sharing!

My favorite {...and only ;-)} niece was over today so I asked her to help direct my blog photo shoot. She has big plans to be a model one day :-) so of course I blasted some 'Victorious' music for her so she could practice her cat walk. Oh yeah, did I mention that my niece just turned 5?

Am I the only person who has a closet half full of jeans that need to be hemmed? I rarely wear jeans so I don't have a lot of motivation to take them to the tailor. When I do wear them I either shove them into boots or cuff 'em. I like to think it's a signature style rather than sheer laziness, but hey, call it what you want.
