Pink Hot

Dress, TJ Maxx/ Madden Girl Heels/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ H&M Hat/ Michael Kors Watch/ Forever21 Jewelry
Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last blogged! The past 2 months have been jam packed with birthdays, vacations, baby showers, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, soccer and on top of that trying to get in time to plan my own wedding. This weekend marks the end of my 'busy season' and I must say, it has been a blast but I can't tell you how excited I am to have a weekend to myself and finally get back to blogging!

These pictures are from a few weeks back at Livermore's Annual Labor Day Weekend Harvest Festival. You've probably never heard of it, but now that you have you should definitely put it on your calendar for next year! It is my favorite wine event hosted by Livermore where 40 wineries participate. There's food, too much wine(if there ever was such a thing), music, art, a bit of shopping, and shuttle buses to safely transport you from winery to winery! It's usually pretty hot this time of the year so I put on a new lightweight sundress, floppy hat to protect me from those UV Rays, and the most comfortable (yet crazy tall) heels I have.

Cheers!

Hey Baby!

The Mama-to-be and me! I borrowed this Rachel by Rachel Roy dress from my sister's closet and paired it with Forever 21 Jewelry for a little pop.
Back in February when I picked up my friend Ashley to go get pedicures she gave me the great news that her and her husband were having a baby! I was so excited for them and of course already thinking about shopping for baby clothes (Lord help me, I am going to be out of control when I have some little ones of my own!) Fast forward a few months, Ash's sister-in-law Megan had a fabulous idea to do a Pampering baby shower with a yellow and grey theme and I was eager to help. Here are just a few pics from the day:
With spray paint, buttons, and scrapbook paper I decorated candles, candelabras, and picture frames to display at the shower. We got baby pictures of the expecting parents for the frames--loved those pics!
I bought fabric quarters at JoAnn's and used iron-on transfer paper to make a onesie banner that we hung over the onesie making station. (Thanks for all of your help mom!)
.
Using the invitation as an example, I made a graphic to print on labels for wine bottle game prizes. And my mom decided to use leftover fabric to make a tie & bow tie for the bottles--she's so creative!
My go-to Baby Shower gift, I love making diaper cakes!
Enjoying a glass of wine and a pedicure :-)

Gold Medal

Top, vintage/ Guess Shorts/ Qupid Heels/ Foley + Corinna Bag/ House of Harlow Sunglasses/ Chanel Earrings/ Michael Kors Watch
With the Olympics on my mind I wanted to create a Gold Medal look so I basically threw on as much gold as possible. I definitely felt glamorous! Unfortunately I am really sensitive when it comes to jewelry and these heavy earrings and necklace ended up giving me a headache[ughh!] and after having lunch outside I realized it was just too hot for heels. So I decided to lighten up my look a bit; I took off my chunky jewelry and heels and slipped into flip flops and blue shorts. I really loved my first look, but that was probably the best decision I made all day! Usually I would say that pain is beauty, but headaches are not winning!

What do you think, comfort or Chanel?

Frenchie

DVF Top, via TheRealReal/ Forever 21 Pants/ Madden Girl Heels(shop similar)/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag/ Tommy Hilfiger Sunglasses/ Bauble Bar Necklace(shop)
Say hello to my friend the French Braid.
My hair is at that point where my bangs are so long that my left eye has seemingly disappeared and I obviously need a haircut, but for some reason I'm just too lazy to pick up the phone to try and schedule a hair appointment. This is the point in time where bobby pins become my best friend, I constantly try to recreate the Carrie bun, and I throw some gel in my hair and let my natural curl do its thing. But today I really wanted my strands out of my face so in comes the French braid. That being said, you only get one full picture of me with my Frenchie, because I was reminded that I hate how I photograph with a French braid in! Le sigh.
So what's your go-to hairstyle on lazy days? Or if you're like me and put off haircuts for wayyy too long?

P.S. I bet I could have made 5 hair appointments in the time it took me to write this blog post. Oh well, maybe I'll call tomorrow.

I think these are the tallest pair of shoes in my closet, life is different when you're standing 5'8" instead of 5'2"
I am obsessed with this bronze-y Milani Nail polish!

50 Shades of Red

BB Dakota Dress/ Melie Bianco Bag/ Qupid Wedges/ Forever 21 Jewelry/ Bauble Bar Cuff/ Michael Kors Watch/ House of Harlow Sunglasses
Amidst all of the '50 Shades of Grey' hype, I was somehow inspired to try and wear 50 shades of red (because grey just didn't sound as appealing). It turns out that I don't actually have all that much red in my wardrobe. So I think I only got to 7, but hey it was a fun challenge for myself :-)

Next challenge: Read 50 Shades of Grey. I've stayed off the bandwagon up until now since it's not the kind of book I'd usually read, but my it arrived on my iPad for free and I'm planning to take the jump tonight. Christan Grey, here I come.

Hello Birdie

H&M Top/ Xhilaration Dress(shop it) & Heels(shop it)/ Mossimo Jacket/ Rebecca Minkoff Bag(shop it)/ Michael Kors Watch/ NY&Co. Watch/ Forever 21 Necklace/ House of Harlow Sunglasses
On Friday I felt like a colorful bird with a serious tail in this number from Target! I love that with a 'mullet' hemline you get the benefit of showing off some leg on a warm day without having to worry about revealing too much when you have to pick something up or sit down. I'm just crossing my fingers that the weather only gets better from here on out so I can wear it again soon [and all of the other summer dresses I've been adding to my wardrobe...]

Happy Monday Friends!

Cupcakes and Champagne

First off, I want to send a huuuuge thank you to my sister Lauren, my mom Margi, and my fiance Giancarlo for putting in so much hard work to get everything ready for our engagement party. I love you guys so much!

Secondly, here is a small glimpse of our party, my top five favorites (aside from my amazing fiance, family, and friends of course)!

Our AMAZING invitations c/o Mixbook! They are completely customizable and Mixbook just so happened to have the perfect Chandelier template that I had envisioned! I love it so much that I had to frame it for display in my room :-)

Personalized Edible Cupcake Toppers from Cake Sugar. I bought an online deal for Cake Sugar some time ago and figured this would be the perfect opportunity to use it. The cupcake toppers were incredibly easy to apply and so so pretty! We displayed them on these fancy looking/budget friendly cupcake stands from Amazon.
Peony roses from FiftyFlowers.com. Potential wedding flowers :-)
Our DIY photobooth was a ton of fun! We made a modified version of this tutorial. My mom sewed black curtains and we bought this curtain as the main backdrop. We already had tons of silly hats and props at home but also picked up this inexpensive set from Party City.
My dress! I spotted this dress months ago (maybe even before we were engaged) at my favorite consignment shop and immediately fell in love. I couldn't wait to wear it! To my surprise I was perusing Lulus.com just a couple of days before the party and spotted my dress
